Before Your Appointment
Resting
Getting tattooed requires more energy than most people expect. Being well-rested will make the experience much more enjoyable. People often doze during sessions, but I would avoid coming to your session tired since it will affect pain management.
Eating
Have a balanced meal before your appointment. Because I tattoo with clients lying down, lighter foods often feel better than a heavy meal. In my opinion It’s better to snack throughout the session.
Hydrating
Drink plenty of water before arriving and don’t forget to bring a water bottle with you. Hydrating not only helps with healing, but with energy and comfort as well.
*Avoid scheduling plans afterward*
Even shorter tattoos often involve several hours together between consultation, preparation, tattooing, and wrapping up. If possible, leave the rest of your day open.
What To Bring
- Water
- Small snacks
- Phone charger or portable battery
- Blanket (recommended for longer sessions)
- Neck pillow (highly recommended)
- Sunglasses (optional, but surprisingly helpful under bright lights)
- Comfortable clothing that can get dirty
- Favorite socks (shoes stay at the door)
Clothing and Preparation
Clothing
Wear clothing that provides easy access to the tattoo area. It’s also important to bring the type of garment you usually wear to check how the tattoo interacts with your usual aesthetic.
Older clothing is recommended in case ink transfers.
Shaving
If we’ve identified the tattoo location beforehand, please shave the area carefully.
If you don’t regularly shave, use a trimmer instead to avoid irritation. If placement is still uncertain, simply bring your trimmer.
Pain
While tattoos are implicitly painful, my process requires a light application to achieve the fine, soft, or smooth appearance that characterizes my work. A light touch means minimal pain compared to a bolder piece but over time can still be uncomfortable. If this is your first, no need to worry, you’ll be surprised at how easy it is.
Position
I use a massage table for all of my work so you will be lying down. There are several pillows available to make the position as comfortable as possible.
My table is on a hydraulic base so that I can work standing. It’s much better for my posture and workflow.
Breaks
I try to time short breaks based on when I have completed a section. Typically we pause every 1-2 hours for a very brief stretch, but I avoid long breaks because skin will be far more sensitive upon returning.
Getting Here
Getting in – Please keep in mind This isn’t a storefront so text me when you arrive and I’ll come downstairs to let you in. If another tenant lets you inside first, simply wait in the lobby.

Street Parking
Availability: Most curbside parking is free and unmetered, but allow extra time to find parking and be prepared to parallel park.
Alternate Side Parking (ASP): Be highly aware of street cleaning schedules. You must move your car on specific days for the street sweepers, otherwise you risk a ticket. Always read the specific block sign.

Guest Policy
Guests are always welcome!
You’re always welcome to bring a guest if you’d like some support or company during your appointment. Tattoo sessions can be long, so I recommend that guests bring something to keep themselves occupied, such as a book, laptop, or headphones.
If they’d rather explore the area while we work, I’m also happy to recommend local cafés, restaurants, shopping, and other nearby attractions. Just let me know, and I’ll point you in the right direction.
